Español: Monumento al General Maclovio Herrera de la Revolución Mexicana — en Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, México.
Descripción
  • El Monumento consiste en una columna de orden neoclásico, flanqueada por cuatro pequeños obeliscos, todo de mampostería, blanqueado. Originalmente la columna la remataba una ánfora de marmolina, blanca, a manera de lámpara votiva, actualmente desaparecida. De los cuatro obeliscos pendían ocho cadenas de hierro, rodeando a la columna, hoy también desaparecidas.
  • La del oriente, que es la principal, dice:
“Al valiente revolucionario General Maclovio Herrera del ejercito constitucionalista”; la del poniente, dice: “el día 17 de abril de 1915 cayó en este sitio luchando por la reintegración del país al orden constitucional al señor General Maclovio Herrera”.
  • Las del norte y sur, son idénticas y presentan en altorrelieve, una alegoría militar compuesta por un sable y un fusil, cruzados diagonalmente, con una corona fúnebre al fondo.

Localización: Viena s/n, esquina Privada Arteaga, colonia Buena Vista, Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas.

Datos históricos: Erigido en el sitio donde cayó muerto el general Maclovio Herrera, del ejército constitucionalista, a quien se considera defensor de Nuevo Laredo, durante la Revolución Mexicana.
