A horse rider warning or equestrian rider warning indicates an area where horse riders present a hazard to motorized, non-motorized or pedestrian traffic. This should be used for areas in which have signed warnings that horse riders may be in the roadway, or that motorists should share the road with horse riders.

This tag should not be used for horse riders crossings; instead see highway=crossing + horse=yes.
