A shop/service that primarily repairs and services vehicles, including but not limited to cars, trucks, and motorcycles. These businesses can offer a variety of repair services, such as engine repair, transmission work, brake replacement, or bodywork. Some may be general auto mechanics or garages, while others specialize in specific services. Some may sell gasoline/petrol - this should be mapped separately as amenity=fuel.

If the shop specializes in certain kinds of service or repair, this can be noted. The most common way that is noted currently is with the tag service:vehicle:*=*.

Do not use this tag for a store that sells car/automobile parts. For that, use shop=car_parts.

How to map

Set a node or draw as an area along the shop outline. Tag it with shop=car_repair and name=*.
