Structural engineer and map geek in Smithfield, VA. Working on mapping areas I know in southeast and central Virginia as I have time (which isn't always often, unfortunately).
I am a moving bridge engineer, and have a particular interest in rail and waterway features, including abandoned/former rail where traces are still visible. I have some historic data on some of my regional lines and companies, and try to add info when appropriate according to the rest of the content guidelines. There's still so much rail cleanup work to do in southeast VA, I'm not really going off on a ton of extra projects.
I'm also interested in generating custom map renderings for specialty items (rail, marine, trail, etc.). No experience on the topic, but something I'm learning on when I can.
