  • Manual offsetting with on the ground truth (roads, building footprints) when using iD editor or missing Imagery Offset Database points. Bing is NOT the gold standard for offsets, only ground truth shall be regarded as standard (GPS) according to Global OSM guidelines;
  • Ronald (Ebong C137 on osm) asked how to offset and calibrate custom aerial imagery. Bert Araali (on osm) referred to PicLayer JOSM plugin and Rectified Image JOSM Plugin.

5. Prepare training and info materials for a workshop on the category, concerning existing mapping and standard OSM mapping.

Ugandan Highways (Roads) Guideline

  • Confusion exist with East-Africa Tagging Guidelines which was an attempt to link UNRA classification to Highway Tag Africa.
  • There is no managerial classification in OSM at this time.
  • There is no clear definition to link highway=* (global as well as local) to different classification systems: socio-economic vs. throughput/physical vs. management.
  • Classification scheme applied in UG is Highway Tag Africa. Is improvement of Global tagging scheme highway=* but still is incomplete and contains ambiguities.
